Project Files

What is a Project File? (.prj)
Often you will want to save your settings in Particle Storm for future use. All the information about controllers, their locations and settings are stored in the Project File (.prj). You can clear, open and save a project at any time.

Note: A Project File does not contain any information about the motions of particles. This information is only contained in the .psm file, NOT the .prj file. However, when loading a project, the .psm file(s) that the project refers to will be loaded.

Projects that use Layout items:
If any controller or parameter in Particle Storm uses a Layout item, make sure to load the scene that contains those items BEFORE loading the Project File. Loading the Project File without the scene will result in parameters that may have incorrect values.

Quick Tip: Save projects frequently. If you have toiled for hours creating that perfect explosion sequence, saving the project will mean you can re-use the effect for any scene.
