The Scene Info page in Particle Storm
Accessing the plug-in

Particle Storm uses two motion plug-ins to control the movement of objects within Layout. These plug-ins are Displacement Map and Item Motion. 'Scene Info' serves as an interface through which you can interactivly assign these plug-ins to multiple items within Layout, saving you the tedious task of assigning item motion plugins to individually one by one.

You can quickly find out information about the objects in your scene and the Particle Storm-specific plug-ins that are applied to each object by using the Scene Info area of Particle Storm. You then select objects and assign Particle Storm motion plug-ins to those selected objects. Scene Info helps tie it all together in one easy-to-use interface.
Entering Scene Info.

1. Open Particle Storm (Options/Generic Plug-ins/Particle Storm).
2. Select the Scene Info tab. This will go to the scene info page.
Reading the scene:

(PStorm v2.0) Click on the Load button to read information about the currently loaded scene.

NEW! (PStorm v2.1) The scene is automatically read upon entering Scene Info.

Scene Info viewer:

Layout Items: Displays all objects, bones, lights and cameras in the currently loaded scene.

NEW! Selecting Items:  To select a single item, simply left-click on it once with the mouse. To select multiple items, you can left-click and drag the mouse. You may also shift click to select a large number of items.

Save Changes to Scene File: Saves out to the current scene file. The newly saved scene file will contain data about the objects in the scene and the item motion plug-ins applied to them (if any).

In Layout: Checked if an item is currently in Layout.

In File: Checked if an item is in the current saved scene (.lws) file.

Note: The items that are in Layout may not be the same as the items in the scene file. For example, you might have added a new item and not saved the scene yet. Items that are not in Layout or not in the file are denoted by the red X. Items that are in Layout or in the scene file are denoted by a green check.

The Plug-ins area:

This area displays information about the individual items in the scene. You can find information about an item by clicking on the item in the Layout Items list. Particle Storm specific information about that item will then be displayed in the Plug-ins area. If no Particle Storm motion plug-in is currently applied to the selected object, nothing will be displayed.

Plug-ins: [Item Motion/ Displacement Plug-ins] These are the two kinds of Particle Storm related motion plug-ins that can be applied to a Layout item.

In Layout: Checked if a displacement map or item motion plug-in is applied to the currently selected Layout item.

In File: Checked if a displacement map or item motion plug-in is applied to the currently selected item in the scene file.

Note:The names of the Layout items that have an Item Motion or Displacement Map plug-in applied to them are rendered gray in the layout Items list. Otherwise, all text is rendered black.
Randomizing Values
NEW! Note that there is a 'Randomize' button next to some of the parameters in Scene Info. This button will only be enabled when more than one item is selected. This allows you to randomize the values for each of the items selected. For example, if you wanted a random Spin speed for each of the items, you would simply click on the Randomize button next to Spin Speed. Hence, for each of the items, the value would be random. You can double check this by clicking on each item individually and noticing that the values are indeed different.
