The most important part of Particle Storm is where you create your particles. This is the PSCreate plug-in located under the Options panel under Generic Plug-ins. If you've installed and added the plug-in, you should see it listed there. Go ahead and select it.

This is the main interface to Particle Storm. Go ahead and have a quick look, push some buttons and play around.

  • Area (A) is the Items area. This is where you assign various attributes that will affect the particles as well as the manner with which you view the particles. Notice the red shaded area just above Area A. Here you can load and save your Particle Storm project settings.
  • Area (B) is the parameter page. This is where the parameters for the items selected in Area A can be edited. Right below Area B is the status bar, which will display what action is currently being executed.
  • Area (C) is the OpenGL preview window, which will allow you to view the particles and controllers as you animate them. Dragging the mouse inside the preview window allows you to interactivly manipulate controllers and cameras.
  • Area (D) is a VCR-type control panel, which is identical to the Layout preview controls. Of special note should be the Record button. As you record a Particle Storm animation, a .psm file is saved to disk.
