Using the Online Reference

Starting Points
This help file comprises the entire On-Line reference and tutorial for Particle Storm Version 2.0.

Particle Storm 2.0 has many new and more advanced features than its predecessor. It also has a new interface that is drastically different than Particle Storm 1.0. The combination of these two things may lead to a steep learning curve for some.

We suggest you start your experience with Particle Storm with the "Quick Start" tutorial. This will get you familiar with the interface and will give you the basic skills you need to begin the tutorials.

Read the section titled "General Knowledge", as this will begin to explain the mode of thinking when you create animations within Particle Storm.

To further familiarize yourself with the interface, refer to the section titled "Interface Guide". You can find this area on the left navigation bar. Be sure to take a look at this area before jumping into the tutorials; it will help you get around the interface.

After that, take a look at the Tutorials. They'll give you a good understanding of the capabilities of Particle Storm. Some of the more advanced tutorials assume that you know the basics of how all the controllers and recording procedures work, so you'll want to refer to the Controllers Reference if you get stuck.
Things to look for

You'll find some tips, tricks and warnings within the reference sections. These are denoted by the following symbols:

Tutorials and sample content location
It is recommended that you work through all the tutorials in order. They will aid in your understanding and prevent confusion. Each tutorial explains how to create a specific effect from scratch. Some objects and scenes are pre-made and can be found under the directory:
NewTek/tutorials/PStorm/.

Some of the tutorials will refer to these objects directly.

While most of the tutorials are intermixed, some will be more in-depth than others. If you find it difficult to follow some of the tutorials, go back and review the General Knowlege section and the Controllers reference.
